After a quick walk, we were pleasantly introduced to our chefs and helpers as well as the others in our group. Each kitchen station was set up for 4 people and a chef was in charge of 2 groups so we had lots of individual attention. We not only learned a lot of cooking tips but had fun doing so. With guidance , we prepared an appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert.I can't believe I helped make pasta from scratch! Then we adjourned to the wine cellar area and enjoyed our 'feast' accompanied by good red wine. It was a memorable 4 1/2 hours and I would be interested in taking another cooking course offered by this company.
We had decided not to hire a car while we were in Florence yet wanted to get out to see some of the countryside. This was an excellent tour for that. It was all very well organised. Only a short trip in a bus with local guides giving you information all the time and then it was onto the bikes. I must admit it's hilly and I wouldn't want to do that route in the summer heat but the pace was relaxed and it was great to get out of the city and even off the roads - we could never have found those tracks ourselves. All in all it was good fun, we learned a lot about wine making and it was all followed by a delicious lunch. Excellent value and a trip worth doing, but only if you genuinely like cycling!!
